Silver price edges higher at $50, eyes next resistance

Silver (XAG/USD) nudged above $50, up 1.7% on the day, but technicals keep it capped near the 23.6% Fibonacci level.
Silver slipped below $49 on Friday, marking its lowest point since November 2025. Early this week the metal clawed back, trading around the $50 psychological barrier and gaining 1.70% on the day. The bounce, however, is modest and still faces a bearish backdrop.
Technical picture
- The 23.6% Fibonacci retracement at $50.22 acts as immediate resistance, with price still below the 100‑hour EMA, keeping the short‑term bias bearish.
- MACD is above zero, the line is rising and the histogram is expanding, signalling improving momentum.
- RSI at 43.31 has moved out of oversold territory, hinting at a possible rebound rather than a decisive bullish reversal.
Key levels to watch
- If the metal breaks above $50.22, the next hurdle is a congestion zone between $51.06 (38.2% Fib) and $51.74 (50% Fib).
- Further upside meets the 100‑period EMA at $52.29 and the 61.8% Fib at $52.42, forming a dense supply area.
- A break below the recent low around $48.86 would reopen a path to deeper declines despite the improving intraday momentum.
What traders are watching next
- Whether XAG/USD can sustain a close above $50.22 to test $51.06.
- Potential reaction to US dollar moves, as a weaker dollar could fuel further gains.
- Any shift in industrial demand from the US, China or India that could add pressure to the metal.
